A man went to jail. His name is Robert Norman. Police arrested him last January at his home on Drybread Road in Whittlesey. He had indecent images of kids.

Officers took two Samsung phones and a hard drive. These items held many images; there were 1,716 indecent images. Norman, 41, talked sexually online, thinking he spoke to a 10-year-old and gave her info to other creeps.

Norman broke a Sexual Harm Prevention Order he got in 2015, following a prior conviction involving indecent images of kids. He hid a phone under his pillow and did not tell officers about it.

Speaking online with the girl, Norman deleted all his web history, breaking the Prevention Order again. He also used new usernames online and failed to tell officers about these, breaking his registration requirements.

He went to jail for ten years on Friday at Cambridge Crown Court. He admitted to making indecent images and breaching the order, including talking sexually with a child.

Police want to protect children. Officer Claire Cummings is happy with Norman’s sentence. The sentence sends a clear message that they will protect vulnerable people.
