A man was sentenced for trying to pay for sex with a girl he thought was 14, but it was an undercover officer.
Peterborough: A 58-year-old man named Andrew Fisher is in trouble. He thought he was meeting a 14-year-old girl for sex. Instead, he met an undercover cop.
Fisher had been chatting online, trying to arrange a meeting. He even asked for two girls to choose from and agreed to pay £120 for an hour. Yikes!
When he showed up at the car park in March 2022, he had a condom with him. Not a good sign. He was arrested right away.
In court, he pleaded guilty to trying to arrange a child sex offence. He got two years and six months in jail. Plus, he has a Sexual Harm Prevention Order now.
During police questioning, Fisher said he was just distracted by life. But that’s no excuse for his actions. Detective Inspector George Neal said he’s a serious danger to kids.
Thankfully, the girl wasn’t real, but Fisher’s intentions were clear. It’s a relief he’s off the streets.
