A 19-year-old drug dealer, Abdul Kareem, was jailed after throwing a machete during a police chase in Peterborough. He was found with drugs and a bladed weapon.

When police approached him, he ran away and tossed a machete into a bush. Officers found the weapon hidden in his trousers.
After catching him, police discovered he had cannabis. A search later revealed 66 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin hidden in his boxers.
Kareem, from Cromwell Road in Millfield, faced Cambridge Crown Court on January 28. He received a 32-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to several drug charges and possession of a bladed article.
Detective Constable Joshua Crown, who worked on the case, emphasized the impact of drug dealing on communities. He encouraged anyone with information to report it.
