A man has been sentenced to over 12 years for stabbing his friend during a heated argument in Peterborough, leaving the victim with serious injuries.
Peterborough: A man was jailed for over 12 years after stabbing his friend. The incident happened after a fight on Eastfield Road.
Brandon Oakley, the victim, and another man had an argument. They later went to a flat on Central Avenue in Dogsthorpe. Oakley showed up, yelling and banging on the door.
Another argument started, and Oakley pulled out a kitchen knife. He stabbed one of the men before fleeing the scene.
Police received a 999 call about a man who was stabbed and unconscious. Officers performed CPR until paramedics arrived and took the victim to the hospital.
The victim had a punctured lung and was placed in an induced coma. Oakley, 24, was sentenced at Cambridge Crown Court for grievous bodily harm and possessing a knife.
Detective Constable Angus Cashman said this was an extreme reaction to an argument. He urged anyone worried about weapons to report it to the police.
