A man has confessed to managing a cannabis farm in Crewe after police used a drone to find the operation
Crewe: A man named Tomas Rupeikis got caught running a cannabis farm. The police used a drone to spot the heat coming from his house.
He was in court recently and admitted to growing the plants. The police found around 164 cannabis plants in total. That’s a lot!
They think the plants could be worth between £13,500 and £68,500. Quite a range, right? Rupeikis was arrested right there at his home.
The police acted quickly after spotting the heat. They got a warrant and searched the place. It’s a good reminder of how tech helps catch criminals.
DC Ben Harrington mentioned that drones can really help in these situations. They can spot unusual heat, which often means something illegal is happening.
Thanks to the drone, they removed a big stash of cannabis from the streets. Rupeikis now faces a sentencing hearing soon.
