A new five-bedroom home with a cinema and games room will rise in Wothorpe, replacing a demolished house after receiving planning approval from the city council.
Peterborough: A new five-bedroom family home is on the way. It will have a cinema and games room. This comes after the old house was demolished.
The new home will be built on First Drift in Wothorpe, near Burghley House. The previous house was approved for demolition in 2023.
Mr. Lindsay, the applicant, hired Harris McCormack Architects. They designed a home with five double bedrooms, a study, and open-plan living spaces.
Extending the old house was not an option. So, a new home was the best choice.
Each bedroom will have an en-suite, and three will include dressing rooms. The kitchen will have lots of workspace and a pantry.
There will also be a games room and terraces for outdoor fun and entertaining.
The ground floor will be open plan, allowing family members to spend time together. There will be separate spaces for games and cinema.
A utility and boot room will keep the kitchen and living areas organized. Above the garage, there will be a study space for quiet time.
The upper floors will provide ample living space, including dressing rooms and guest accommodations.
The design will blend well with the surrounding area. Construction must start within three years of the approval date, which is January 31, 2025.
