A closed pub in March, Cambridgeshire, may soon become three new flats. Plans are underway to convert the building into residential units.
March: A former pub in Cambridgeshire might be turned into flats. The Buffs pub closed last summer and has been empty since.
Now, there are plans to convert it into three flats over two floors. The external staircase will also be removed.
The previous owners said closing the pub was a tough decision. They tried hard to keep it open but felt it was time to close.
The agents for the application, Morton & Hall Consulting, noted that no jobs would be lost since the pub is already closed. They mentioned that previous approvals for residential use were not acted upon.
The design statement claims that changing the use to residential will reduce noise levels. It will also help bring the building back into use in a town center location.
Fenland District Council will decide on the application later. You can check the plans using reference F/YR25/0072/F on the planning portal.
