Hannah, Louise’s sister, was found at the door with a crossbow bolt in her chest. She was still alive when the police arrived. She had called them, fearing for her life.
After the attack, a manhunt began for Clifford. He was later discovered in a cemetery, having shot himself. He faced court via video link and pleaded guilty to three murders and other charges.
Following the incident, Home Secretary Yvette Cooper is considering stricter laws on crossbows. Currently, there are no registration requirements for owning one, making them easy to buy online.
The Hunt family expressed their devastation, saying words can’t capture their pain. Clifford will also face a trial for a separate charge later this year.
