Crewe: Ivy Hart just turned 105, and what a celebration it was! The whole town came together to shower her with love and well-wishes. It’s not every day you hit such a big milestone.

Her party was a blast! Ivy had her family and friends around her, plus a whopping 270 birthday cards. The staff at Belong Care Village reached out to the community for help, and boy, did they deliver!

Ivy was over the moon. She said, “For me, my age is just a number.” Isn’t that a great way to look at it? She’s lived a long life and believes in enjoying every moment.

Kids from Pebble Brook Primary School even sang Happy Birthday to her. How sweet is that? There was live entertainment, gifts, and a special cake made by the village’s bistro team. The Crewe Town Mayor, Cllr Dawn Clark, also popped in to share some lovely stories about Ivy.

Ivy has seen so much in her lifetime. She was born just after WWI and has witnessed five monarchs and 23 prime ministers. Talk about history!

After losing her husband George, Ivy moved to Abergele, where she focused on her dogs and singing. She later returned to Crewe to become a teacher, helping boys with learning difficulties. She lived independently until this year when she moved to Belong Crewe.

Now, Ivy is one of about 600 people in England and Wales who are 105 or older. That’s pretty rare!

Jessica Butler, the event organizer, said, “Ivy is very dear to us. We wanted everyone to share in her day.” She was thrilled to receive so many colorful cards, some even played music. What a lovely way to make Ivy’s day special!
