Chester: A high school in Chester is still closed due to a ransomware attack. Blacon High School has been shut down since Monday.

Students in Years 10 and 11 can return tomorrow. But, unfortunately, Years 7, 8, and 9 will stay home for the rest of the week. The headteacher, Rachel Hudson, shared this info on the school’s website.

She mentioned they’re following expert advice and reviewing all systems. They’re working hard to reopen for the older students while keeping the younger ones learning online.

Rachel assured parents they’re doing everything possible to speed up the reopening. They’ll keep everyone updated with more details soon.

For students in Years 7, 8, and 9, sandwiches can be picked up at reception from 11 AM to 1 PM on Wednesday. Meanwhile, all students can access their work on Google Classroom.

A dedicated phone line is available since the regular phone systems are down. Parents can call 0330 043 9883 between 8 AM and 4 PM for any questions or to report absences.
