Peterborough: Did you hear about the latest episode of Channel 4’s 24 Hours in Police Custody? It’s going to feature a big drug operation that happened right here. The whole thing kicked off when officers found £10,000 worth of drugs in a car on the A47. Can you believe that?
The Eastern Region Special Operations Unit got involved and uncovered a massive operation. They seized over £1.5 million worth of drugs hidden in secret compartments. It’s wild how they managed to track it all down.
Detectives even thought they might break an international cartel from South America. They charged three guys, including Toby Bunting, who’s 52 and from Park Road in Peterborough. He got two and a half years in prison for his role in this mess.
In May, two other guys, Axel Ritter Cruz and Daniel Fordham, were also sentenced. Ritter Cruz got 16 years for importing cocaine and meth, while Fordham received ten years for conspiracy to supply meth. It’s a serious situation.
Detective Chief Inspector Mick Birch said crystal meth is super dangerous. He stressed the importance of keeping it out of our communities. The episode airs on January 13 at 9pm on Channel 4. Don’t miss it!
