Peterborough: So, guess what? Peterborough just got called one of the worst places to live in England. It landed in fourth place on ILiveHere’s list. Not exactly a glowing review, right?

This isn’t the first time, either. Peterborough has been in the top 10 for years. It’s like a badge of honor, but not the good kind. Plus, Rightmove recently said it’s one of the least happy spots in Cambridgeshire.

People around here know the city has a bit of a rough reputation. Sure, it looks more industrial than the rest of Cambridgeshire. But hey, it’s not all bad. There are some cool things about living here.

For starters, the train links to London are pretty great. And if you’re a foodie, you’ll love The Chubby Castor. It’s got three AA Rosettes and even caught the Michelin Guide’s eye. Not too shabby!

Now, I get it. Peterborough isn’t as pretty as Cambridge with its green parks and historic buildings. The high street and Queensgate Shopping Centre? Not winning any beauty contests. But every city has its not-so-great spots.

Just a short walk from the shopping center, you’ll find Peterborough Cathedral. This 12th-century gothic beauty is a must-see if you want a taste of the city’s history.

And if you want to escape the city vibe, Nene Park and Ferry Meadows are nearby. They’ve got water sports, playgrounds, and lovely walking trails. Perfect for a day out!

If you stick around, there are plenty of pubs and cafés to check out. Argo Lounge is great for brunch or a quick bite. For something fancy, The Cherry House has a chef with an AA Rosette. Yum!

ILiveHere says Peterborough is a city everyone loves to hate. It might not have the charm of a small town like Ely, but it’s got its own unique vibe that keeps people coming back.
